A Two Day Training on Report Writing For NRC Staff
The Center of Business Administration (CBA) held a two day training on “Report Writing” for staff of the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) on Saturday and Sunday from December 26 & 27, 2020 at the Safi Landmark Hotel, Kabul, Afghanistan.
The training kicked off with a pre-test that was taken by the participants, and it was based on the following agendas:
The training was conducted using methods that included facilitation by the training, question and answers sessions (Q & A), presentation, game, discussion, and simulation.
Throughout the two days training, the participants discovered that what a report is, why it is important to write or present reports, different types of reports, qualities of good reports, and the common mistakes in report writing. Similarly, the participants got familiar with the steps of writing a complete report (e.g. identifying a problem, data vs. knowledge, data vs. information, and data collection techniques.)
The participants also got information about data analysis and creating data graphs, planning a report, organizing the information, choosing the report format, report writing format, practicing, and report sample. Moreover, the participants learnt practically about punctuation and capitalization rules, formatting and style, the seven Cs in writing, ethics of report writing, and reporting presentation.
At the closing of the two days training, the participants took the post test and training evaluation form.
